When it comes to our goal of maintaining the highest quality standards, nothing is taken for granted.
Food safety and hygiene
Quality is paramount to our philosophy. Stringent checks are made at every step – from the sourcing and arrival of raw material to the dispatch of finished product around the world.
Tested before shipment, our incoming products are sampled to BRC [British Retail Consortium] standards and sent to independent laboratory facilities for microbiological analysis. Suppliers conform to European Union food health and safety regulations. Goods-In procedures and batch coding of products ensure traceability is feasible at every stage.
The warehouse facility follows HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) quality control procedures which include segregated cleaning and packing units for pulses, nuts and spices. For the packaging of dried food, it has maintained higher level BRC approval since 2002
Continuous investment in warehouse equipment and machinery ensures constant quality – and products that are second to none. We complement this regime in the UK with a programme designed to provide security of source and traceability. We educate the growers and farmers: testing and sorting, for example, is undertaken before approval for shipment in containers to the UK.
The care we take and the quality we achieve are the result of painstaking attention to detail – so that we can guarantee the provision of pure, flavoursome and quality assured foodstuffs.
